How Much Does a Website Cost in Nigeria in 2026?

By Tobi Arowosegbe · Full stack & WordPress developer, Lagos · Updated August 2026

This is probably the single most-searched question in Nigerian web development, and it's genuinely hard to answer with one number, because "a website" can mean a five-page brochure site or a full ecommerce platform with inventory management. Here's an honest breakdown by project type, based on active market rates in 2026, not inflated agency rate cards.

Basic business / brochure website

₦150,000 – ₦450,000

Home, about, services, contact, maybe a blog. Built on an existing WordPress theme or a template-based build, with your branding and content applied. This is the right tier if you mainly need a credible online presence, not custom functionality.

Custom-designed website

₦450,000 – ₦1,500,000

Original design (not a stock theme), more pages, possibly custom animations or interactions, and closer attention to brand consistency. Worth it when your website is a primary sales or credibility tool, not just an online business card.

WooCommerce or Shopify ecommerce store

₦400,000 – ₦1,200,000

Product catalog setup, payment gateway integration (Paystack/Flutterwave for local, Stripe/PayPal for international), shipping/delivery logic, and basic inventory. Cost climbs with catalog size, custom checkout requirements, and integrations (accounting software, delivery APIs, SMS notifications).

Custom web application (Laravel/Node, not just a website)

₦1,000,000 – ₦8,000,000+

Booking systems, marketplaces, SaaS products, internal business tools with user roles and dashboards. This is genuinely software development, priced closer to development hours than "website" pricing, and the range is wide because complexity varies enormously.

A simple way to sanity-check a quote

Ask exactly what's included: number of pages, whether the design is custom or template-based, who writes the content, how many rounds of revisions, whether hosting/domain setup is included, and what post-launch support looks like. Two quotes that look far apart on price often turn out to be describing two different scopes of work entirely.

Tell me what you're trying to build and I'll give you an honest, scoped quote — not a generic price list.
